Kalaavid, as the name speaks, is the brand of Sri Siddivinayaka Exports for promoting artisans who are situated in small, remote villages of South karnataka, India. These artisans express their faith, love and all their emotions through highly hand crafted artistic work in Gold, Silver, Brass, and Wood.
Kalaavid exemplifies the exquisite art of producing gold, silver and brass handcrafted spiritual idols, temple ornaments which are sought after around the world. Based on the thorough understanding of the spiritual scriptures and concepts of evolution of Indian gods, exclusive handcrafted temple ornaments in gold, silver and brass are brought to life, with strict adherence to the spiritual descriptions. A skilled team of artisans and craftsmen create the perfect blend between beauty and divinity.

With four decades of experience in hand crafting temple idols and ornaments in gold, silver and brass, Kalaavid has firmly established as a leader in the field, through sheer dedication and commitment and divine inspiration.

Kalaavid invokes the heritage of Indian spiritualism and emphasizes the relevance of beautification of deities and temples based on various elements of mythology and nature.
In the year 1970, a great visionary artist and craftsman Late Shri D P Narayan Bhat started his small enterprise in Phajinadka a village near Karkala, initially as a hobby which later on turned out to be an institution imparting training to many local artists in brining the art of temple design as per principles of Shastras and crafting the idols with precision as documented in the spiritual texts.

Late Sri D.P.Narayan Bhat soon became a name to reckon with, in the Indian Crafts industry. This followed recognition of his skill across various platforms culminating in the prestigious National award as “Master Crafts Person” excellence in temple and temple ornaments design in 1993, by the then President of India Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma.

Late Sri D. P Narayana Bhat’s divine gifts of crafting spiritual idols were transformed on to a bigger platform, with a strong team of creative and experienced artisans, which resulted in the formation of Sri Siddhi Vinayaka Exports, to access the very high demand from across the world.
Building up on this strong foundation and having inherited the skill of art from his illustrious father, his son Late Sri D. P. Divakar Chiplunkar along with his son Sri D P Sudharshan Chiplunkar took up the mantle to firmly establish this tradition. Late Sri D P Divakar Chiplunkar’s services in the field of Art was such that it was appreciated by the Government of Karnataka and he was awarded with “Shilpakala Academy Award” in the year 2008-09.

Kalaavid is the brainchild of Sri. D P Sudharshan Chiplunkar who has not only inherited the art of craftsmanship from his Grandfather and his father but also exposed to the present world of technology. Kalaavid is aiming to create a bridge between the craftsman and artists in the remote villages with the world at large. Sri. D P Sudharshan Chiplunkar continues to take his family endeavor to greater heights.

For the last four decades we have created one-of-its-kind masterpieces for many temples in the state of Karnataka and many other parts of India.

From Kalaavid, our masterpieces travel across the globe. Here, each masterpiece is designed using Gold, Silver, Brass and Wood. Generally wood is used as a base for most of our products which are later encased and beautified with crafted Gold, Silver or Brass. When the pieces are ready, they are thoroughly lacquered to preserve the material qualities and infuse shine. The purity of materials such as Gold and Silver are maintained as per the client’s preference.

Late. Sri D P Narayana Bhat, Founder of Sri siddhivinayaka Exports received the national award for excelent art craftmanship from the former president of India Dr. Shankardayal Sharma.
Late Dr. V. S. Acharya presented 2008-09 Rajya Shilpakala Academy Award to Late Shri D.P.Divakar Chiplunkar.
Late Shri D P Diwakar Chiplunkar was awarded by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade for his excellent contribution towards sculpture.
